Tennis may or may not be your thing, but Wimbledon this year
has really demonstrated the power of the human mind. These fascinating
gladiatorial contests are being won and lost not on raw talent, but
consistently on what I describe as attitude.
The ebb and flow of the points, the games and sets comes
with a changing mind-set and this is often apparent and visibly displayed
through their body language.
Every one of us, whatever we do must not underestimate the
influence of our thoughts, mind-set, self-belief ….. and attitude can have on
our daily lives, on our business success and of course our relationships. Every top performer has a coach (a lesson
here for all who want to be an achiever) and from what I know here and see,
these coaches are spending less coaching time on just raw skill development,
but more on brain usage – thought – frame of mind – can do and positive
visualisation.
So whether you like tennis or not, there really is a great
deal we can learn from these thrilling contests and then take some of that
learning to put into and practice in our own lives.
Our thought for the day on Friday 4th
July “The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement”. How about a summer clean up in your big room
and then put your brain to work at some attitude improvement, and don’t you
dare say “not needed”.
